I don't wear girls dancewear to any of my dance classes, it is "Ballarina-boy" who claimed to wear pink tights and a black leo to his pointe class.I've only ever worn my sister's dancewear to my dance class once for halloween and was told not to wear that in my dance school ever again. I've never taken any formal pointe class, they do not and will not teach pointe to boys at my school. I still do wear some of my sister's dancewear at home when the two of us pratice or when ever she wants to teach me how to dance en pointe. My dance school is one of the older more established dance schools where I live so it is very formal and old fashioned. Boys at my school have to wear a dance belt(that is a must, no dance belt no class)a white top, short sleeved leotard, tank or T-shirt with out any writting or logos and it must be tucked in under the top of your tights, black tights rolled at waist over a belt. you can wear white socks if you want, if not your tights have to be footed and your shoes have to be white canvas or leather. when I asked about wearing black shoes I was told that the schools wood floors would need to be sanded every year if the boys were allowed to wear black shoes.
I think that it is nice of your teacher to let you also take part in the pointe portions of your ballet classes.
