I don't get why balletmom is so uptight about boys who wear tights.  The way she is talking, one could say that females should not be able to wear jeans or pants!   What should we all do?  We can't dance in the nude! Tights are necessary for dancing just like books and paper are necessary for class in school.

I know that ballet is kinda sexist, but just because it's female-dominated doesn't mean that it's females ONLY.  Look at football...it is male dominated, yet females do play it in certain cases.  Couldn't you say that ballet is the same kind of team effort?

However, I don't get the point of guys dancing as a girl or doing pointe stuff...that's kind of like the linebacker trying to be the quarterback or kick a field goal.  we all have our own role we can excel at.
