Not all dancers are drug addicted, starving, skinny, anorexic victims. Only about 5% of all dancers have such problems. Ballet is a wonderful experience that I'd reccomend for ALL young people to try. Plus, you get to WEAR TIGHTS!!!

Well, i thought it was slightly more than 5%, but ballet is kinda like sports...not everyone will become a professional, and not every professional is a star.  That doesn't mean that few people love ballet or sports.  Lots of people do it for fun, no matter how "bad" they are.   Although you can't be 350lbs (either sex!), you can't be too skinny or too light for ballet because it requires strong muscles and a strong bone structure.   I can't say anything about crazy ballet teachers other than that i doubt they have few outside interests :D
