Balletlover - Balletmania
written by balletboy at on 02.08. at 05:14:35 - as answer to: 16 yr. old male ballet beginner, I need help. I will be traveling to San Diego. by Joshua >I am Joshua, and I am 16 years old. I am a beginner that wants to devote my life to the art of ballet. I am trying to get into the ballet world. I am 5'6" through 5'7", I weight 130 lbs. I am slim and quite flexible. I am Puerto Rican. So, I would like to know if there is anyone willing to help me with tips, places to go to school for dance, and/or places in San Diego to practice.>Truly Yours,>Joshua Joshua: I saw your request on the other parsimony site, RE: New Mexico. I don't know anyone there, so I didn't respond to that. When I saw your request here, I was concerned, because you say you are 16-years-old. Please be careful about some of the responses you get on this forum. At 16, you may know what you want, but still, you're a minor. Be very careful about the people you get involved with. On your trip, only go to schools that are listed in the phone book. You can check the back-pages of Dance Magazine for schools in San Diego. DON'T MEET WITH ANYONE ALONE! ONLY MEET IN PUBLIC PLACES! If you have relatives there, meet people only with them. If not, once you find a legitimate dance school, if you intend to meet someone, ask them to meet you there and ask someone at the school to be present when you meet. I know as a 16-year-old boy you may have interests in some type of "special" meeting, but be careful. There are people, male and female, out there you are ready to misuse 16-year-ols. A BAD experience is not worth having, especially in a city that is not your home! Answers to this message:
