I apologize if I am disappointing you--but what you think you are seeing is not what you are really seeing.  These are pics of guys that have been 'colored' to make the super hero effect.  It's easy to tell.  If the guy's skin has been colored, you still see the skin underneath (like the definition of his muscles, or his nips).  If he had underwear/swimwear/tights on in the original photo, you'll see the texture of the fabric (and not the skin itself) under the color in the photo.

I checked this out a few months ago (July, I think).  There was an article in our local paper that some of the comic book manufacturers were trying to stop this from happening on the Net.  I asked a friend of mine who does web sites for a living about it.  She took a pic, colored it (I think in Adobe Photoshop) and it was pretty slick. Once you see it done, it's easy to recognize.  There are a number of software packages on the market that can create this effect.  It's called 'layering'.
