To the original>>questioner: try either>>>>Ballet for late or the adult beginner>>>>http://f16.parsimony.net/forum26922/>>>>or>>>>Ballet Alert>>>>http://www.balletalert.com/>>>>You're more likely to get a sympathetic hearing and useful advice.>>Terry Gal>>Who says we can't address such issues here??? It's good to take a break for a serious discussion every now and then. Just because we are all tights lovers doesn't mean that we can't offer advice on a young girls ballet career. >So I say to the original writer.......>If you find yourself with a lack of love for ballet, maybe you should stop dancing. I would never pursue any activity that doesn't give me pleasure. But I would strongly urge you to discuss your feelings with your ballet teacher. Maybe he / she can give you thge advice you need.>OK back to the tights talk!!!! >>>Yeah, Terry. Ain't no sympathy here! I mean, I can only speak for myself, but my life is ONLY about my tights fetish...Of course my Queen, being infallible, had the right idea. I'm guessing she didn't want the original questioner to stumble on some other post which might have creeped her out (ever read "Naked" by David Sedaris? There's a story in there called "Next of Kin" which hilariously deatils the problem of kids learning about sex from pornography instead of vice-versa...)>>>As for the problem, well, if she hasn't fled in terror by now...Kid, don't ever give up what you love, just because it has nothing to do with what you percieve your life to be about right now. Life isn't just about doing what you're supposed to do, it's also about doing what you love, whether you're making a living at it or not. Most healthy kids do things which'll never "get them anywhere". How many HS football players go on to NFL careers? How many band members go on to play in orchestras? How many cheerleaders go on to professional pom-pomming? Yet they embrace these things as part of themselves, until they get to some crossroads which force them to choose this, or that. Me? I've got a regular job, but I've got a few hobbies, only one of which do I see as a possible new career path (another, which I love but know I'll never make a living at-and guys and gals, it's not what you think-is costing me a small fortune!)You still use the word "love" right next to the word "ballet". That tells me that it is still a part of your life. Live it, if you love it!And maybe you shouldn't read too many of the other posts here... -Depon Answers to this message: |
