What EXACT (actual name on the package) style of DKNY tights (or any other brands) do you all recommend? I live in So. California. What stores can I find them at? What sizes/colors (more than just black) are >>>>>available? Thanks very much-Peter>>>>-->>>>>>>>Hi Peter;>>>>DKNY brand hosiery names change seasonally.  From one year to the next, there could be complete name changes with no sign of what the previous one was.  The DKNY website is void of detail, unfortunately.  I have one pair made of microfibre that are not shiny, and reasonably opaque.  But I got these about 4 years ago (I don't wear them often, in hopes of making them last longer), so most likely they've been replaced with a different name and/or line.  If memory serves me right, they were called "Microfiber Tight".  At one point in time, I actually saved the original packaging (hey, I wonder if you could get much for an unused discontinued pair of DKNY tights mint-in-box on an eBay auction?).  I'll see if I happen to have these particular ones and let you know what name and model# was used.>>>>In the meantime, Depon is right--there is a style called "Super Opaque" which are basically not shiny (they could pass for men's dress socks).  They looked to me like a basic, so DKNY should still have them.  Your best bet is to go to Macy's, Lord&Taylor, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, etc., and see for yourself...  >>>>Seamless>>>>>>>Unfortunately, I've been haunting my local Macy's, Bloomingdales, and JC Penneys like a poltergeist (well, a "free repeater", as the Ghostbusters would say), and have come up fairly dry. They all carry DKNY, but the only superopaque pair I've landed came from a clearance bin! I also wear mine sparingly, by the way-can't believe I've gotten to the point where I have "good" tights, and "Just knocking around the house" tights. What's next, "work tights?" one can only hope...   -Depon>>>>I've gotten to the point where I have ones that I wear to bed, some that are my regulars for "special moments", others I've "retired" and wear once in a great while, and only one or two that I'd feel comfortable enough wearing under nice trousers for work (dark colors where they could pass for socks).  From what I've observed of women, one of their gripes about pantyhose is that they don't last more than a few wearings before getting runs.  Although tights last longer, they wear out too (especially in the foot when they rub up against edges in the shoes).  Any that you decide to wear during a full day get abused at the feet and the rubbing of pants will do damage over the long haul (if not lined).  I had one pair of DKNY's, Satin Jersey, that I wore about 10 times, after which it was noticeable that a couple of areas on the feet had gotten rather "pilly" from shoe rubbing.  One solution to the feet wearing out is to simply put thin socks over them.  But most opaque tights will make you sweat under pants and socks (they were intended to keep legs warm on their own!).  That's why I don't wear them often.>>On "knocking around the house" tights, do you wear socks with them?  I've had a couple of incidences where I simply snagged them on a rough area of carpet.  Also, the mortar between tiles in bathrooms and kitchens can marr the fabric.  On ones that I "treasure" (like my new red ones), I'll wear socks when I'm walking around, then slide them off my feet when I sit down for a while.  That helps make them last longer for me.>>Seamless>>>>>>It's mostly stocking feet for Y.T., and yep, I've got a piece of floor (the doorway to my bathroom) that eats tights with a vengance-Depon

Try some leather ballet shoes. They look and fit great. A natural with tights.
