I know the feeling, very well!  In the beginning, you have this tremendous feeling of embarrassment, that some woman will see you in the hosiery section and do you in with a scowling stare.  Or the checkout girl will look at you like you're a sissy (when you're not).  Even better, the little girl with her mom (and you know how little girls have this knack for pointing out ANYTHING unusual in male behavior) turns and says "Mommy, why is that man looking at tights??"  I once had a pre-teen walk by me saying, "you know, this part is for girls only!", at which I replied "there's no rule saying I can't buy women's clothes for my girlfriend, is there?" (heh, she had a foiled look on her face and walked away).

But yeah, you'll soon find that part of the thrill IS the embarrassment.  Then over time, it'll be all too familiar and won't bother you much.  There was one time I actually convinced myself I was buying tights for my girlfriend and browsed the section freely.  When a salesgirl approached me asking if I needed help, I accepted her offer saying how my girlfriend is 5'11" and prefers super opaque hosiery... got helped (to DKNY of course) with a smile and no problems.

So, the fun challenge is getting over the embarrassment.  It's not terribly hard--all you have to do is walk in confidently.  And to do that, you need to have a "role" that you play.  If you're in a dance store and plan to buy men's tights, that's a cinch.  Buying women's is tougher... but you can play dumb, saying your girlfriend is just starting ballet and you wanted to get her some nice clothes.  In a department store, there's no explanation necessary.  In your mind, you're buying them for your girlfriend.  This isn't fool proof.  But part of the fun is that slight tingling feeling of embarrassment you'll have lurking in your mind.  Just don't let it get a hold of you leaving you obviously flushed in the face, 'cause then you're a dead give away.   ;-D

~Seamless~>im gonna be going into a dance store for the 2nd time to go and buy some tights, as soon as i get in im headin straight for their glorious wall of tights(just thinking about it makes me excited). im a little nervous but since ive got the money I have to do it. I just hope the stores empty when i go in. since i work at a mall i wanted to go into one of the department stores to get some but, man theyre crowded as hell right now. anyways i just thought yall should know since you may remember the first time you went into a store and finally got to buy your own stuff. well wish me luck!
