I even got to see them when they brought that huge orchestra with them to Madison Square Garden (Works Vol I tour-1977). Then I heard Bob Marley and the Clash...>>>>The thing about Styx is, when they were good, they were very good (Grand Illusion being my favorite album of theirs) Strangely (well, not so) the only groups of the pre-punk arena-rock era I still go nuts over are Queen and (try not to laugh, I mean this sincerely) ELO...>>>>Anyway, my hat's off to Jay-playing ELP on stage is a tall order! I had a song or two of theirs in my old repertoire, and they were murder! Now, it's mostly about Hendrix for me. Out of the frying pan...-Depon Well thank you! Actually it isn't that hard. ELP were only three, whereas The Kihunters(me band!) are five. We're not good enough to sound like a full symphony orchestra just yet. :) We play Still..You Turn Me On, Karn Evil 9 (1st imp. part II) and Benny The Bouncer. As for Styx, we play Renegade, Blue Collar Man and Come Sail Away. I'm hoping to put some recordings up on my website soon. (who was it that said we needed new topics? :) Jay Answers to this message: |
