Hey Shimmer!

Most adult classes are pretty lax about ballet class attire.

I would recommend the following: (1) beige dancebelt - a must!  You sould wear it so that the penis points upwards and the testicles pulled as far out of the crotch as possible.  The dancebelt should be worn as high as possible on the waist in the front, but allow the back of the dancebelt, where the buttstrap attaches, to sink down a little (for less pull on the perineum).

(2) Grey tights - Black tights are OK, but don't show the definition of your muscles and other significant parts.  Grey allows for clear definition.  White tights are OK, but they often let the dancebelt show through (white tights on a white dancebelt look freaky), and they show every bit of dirt and dust that's common in dance studios.

(3) A "regular" belt to hold up the tights, preferably elastic.  I picked up a tip on one of the boards about using the elastic belts that baseball players use to hold up their pants.  You can buy them at almost any sporting goods store.  Make sure it's elastic and not canvas.

The belt is important to hold up the tights, avoiding the crotch sag that looks so so so bad, but also, when you rotate the tights outward on the legs and free up material in the seat, so it fits down into the buttcrack, the belt will hold it there (balletboy wrote some stuff about eliminating the unibutt look on some of the other forums, I think forum26541, or maybe some other.  Look around, the advice was good.)

(4) White knee high socks -- preferably the kind you get in the Men's department of a large department store (I prefer Gold Toe).  These set off your claves, showing them nicely.

(5) White leather ballet slippers - these highlight the feet.

(6) Cotton-lycra white t-shirt -- While the leotard is good to show off the chest, a white t-shirt is more traditional for men in class.  If you buy one in cotton-lycra that fits snugly, it makes a super look.

(7) Calf or leg warmers can be a nice touch.  I wear leg warmers over my knees and calves sometimes, as the bulky wool or acrylic ones can make the calves look "stronger."  Also, some leg warms are high enough to reach just below the butt, and these can make a good look.

I can't offer advice for your girlfriend, as I only dress (or undress) guys!

Good luck!  BalletMaster
