I have personally seen their enthusiasm for the subject. The first time I thought it was a fluke but when it has happened on at least a dozen separate occasions at different times, locations and situations it becomes much more concrete. Three times the man affected was present during the discussion, and he failed to voice more then a token objection. Interestingly enough the first time it happened was also the greatest reaction that I have ever had to date, from wearing tights and leotards out in public. One evening while I was wearing an extremely bright and provocative combination of yellow and red complete with red fishnets, 4" red pumps and yellow anklets, I stopped at a local McDonalds for dinner. My costume had caused a great number of reactions all evening but here something different happened. There was a group of three girls and three guys in line in front of me. The end girl was having a quite a problem trying to control herself after she had turned and seen me. After failing to contain her convulsive laughter, she finally turned to me and started asking questions about why I was going out dressed like I was. Off the top of my head I told her my wife was punishing me for being forgetful. That set her off and when I got my order and set down she and her friends came over and set beside me. She totally freaked out when I told her I had forgotten our anniversary two years in a row and my wife was making me go out in public dressed like this so I would have a real good reason to remember next year. She then looked over at her boyfriend and commented about how he would look in red and yellow, but the reaction from the girl across from me was wilder yet. She had not really joined into the rest of the conversation I was having with the others at the table so it was surprising when she looked over at her boyfriend and asked. "Richard, would you go out in public dressed in tights and leotards if I asked you to?" The conversation at the table stopped and the other four of them turned and watched Richard. He sputtered for a minute trying to digest what she had just asked him, then he replied with "What, wear what, where?" Even more seriously then before she replied, explaining the question in greater detail. "If I asked you , would you be willing to go out in public, wherever I wanted you to, dressed only in bright colored tights and a leotard?" He sensed, just as I did that, this wasn't just a silly question on her part and she was looking for a serious answer. He sat there for several minutes his sandwich hanging halfway between plate and mouth as he frantically tried to come up with an answer that wouldn't get him into trouble. By now the other four had sensed something happening between them and they were also humorously pressing him for an answer, the could tell he was in a difficult situation and wanted to see what happened. That was when I noticed that she was wearing an engagement ring. "I don't know, you've never asked me?" he finally replied. The other four immediately called that a copout answer and sensing his increasing embarrassment they pressed him to answer her question. He tried to change the subject by suggesting the other guys had better watch out and think what it would be like if their dates asked them the same question. It almost worked, as the two other girls started making suggestions about what would be a cute color combination for their dates to wear, but the one girl was still focused on Richard and I think Richard and I were the only ones who heard her next questions. "You told me earlier you would do anything I asked, well will you wear a pair of tights and leotards if I ask you to?" "In public?" he quickly and nervously asked. She smiled and gave him a look like a cat gives a caught mouse telling him, "Maybe later but that depends. Will you wear them?" They sat there for several seconds eyes tightly locked as the others chatted about colors and where they thought it would be funny to make their dates go, before he quietly looked down at the table and nodded his head yes. They talked for several more minutes asking me where I had been dressed like that and the guys questioned me closely about what it was like when I did it. The tone had changed from what if, to why not now and the other two guys were starting to be nervous. They didn't like the way the conversation was going. I was running out of time and thought it was time for me to have some fun so I decided to pull the pin on a idea hand grenade. I got up from the table saying, "It's been fun but I have to go. I if you three really want to see if your boyfriends will do it, the Bradley's down the street is saving a 50% off sail on tights and leotards." To this day I wished that I could have stayed to see what happened. When I pulled out of the parking lot the six of them were in a group by their cars arguing about something. I would have loved to have followed them to see if they did go to Bradley's like I suggested. I feel totally certain that Richard soon started experiencing the joys of tights and leotards. Another time when I was talking with a couple while dressed out. The guy had made a comment about it never happening to him when his wife asked him what was the date of their anniversary. The look on his face was priceless when he realized he didn't know it, and his wife said he might not like the "I'm sorry I forgot present he might have to buy." Got to run.Seeker Answers to this message: |
