Still more tights in comix!

>>>1-Leslie Sternbergh: She appears in a really great collection of work by female underground cartoonists titled "Twisted Sisters" (ed. Diane Noomin, ISBN#0-14-015377-2). In one piece, in which she details her adventures working in a hostess bar, she tells us- "Yes! I was the only one there wearing BLACK TIGHTS!" In another, she draws herself as a paper doll, with outfits from her own wardrobe. One of her coolest fashion suggestions is this: Get all of your friends to sign a pair of tights! Wish I was Leslie's friend! I'd even drive her to the airport! Even "Seeker Style" if she were into it! Another lady brush-jockey who appears to really dig tights (and paper dolls) is:>>>2-Sarah Dyer: Ms. Dyer puts out an anthology comic for female cartoonists called "Action Girl," which is hit-and-miss, but hits more often than it misses. The best part of some issues is Action Girl's paper doll page (again?), where Ms. D often is found extolling her love of tights-wearing. The best one of these is in issue #6, where she draws herself a Shonen Knife dress (and if you haven't heard of Shonen Knife, SHAME ON YOU! Go get yourself a copy of "Let's Knife" right now!!! Fun music, and cute japanese girls in black tights! Perfect entertainment!) which she claims is "long enough to skip tights if you want. Me, I'd add tights anyway..." She also has a "Coco" miniskirt ensemble, where she notes "Yes, yes. I think you know what's on the legs here..." Finally, her Star Trek (classic) uniform has her notifying us that she "Would have been wearing the most opaque tights in space!" And issue #9 sports a full-color paper doll cover featuring AG in a sport bra, black tights and leggings. I have, incidentally, briefly met Ms. Dyer, and she's way cool. But before you get your hopes up, sorry. Ms. Dyer is the longtime steady of genius comic-book artist Evan Dorkin, creator of "Hectic Planet!" and "Milk and Cheese." He deserves her, believe me!>>>Now if we can just find a few more girls into guys in tights...-Depon
