>I rememberall too well those days.  I even have the dancewear catalogs to proove it.  I think one of my favorite catalogs was the 1980 Danskin catalog, featuring SUPER shiny leotards and pants.  Of course the Taffy's catalog from the early 80's was pretty hot too.  Lots of men and women in leotards tights, and unitards throughout.  Wearing all kinds of great things.....  sigh.....   those were the days.....>Check out the film "PERFECT" for a blast from the spandex past....

>>>That flick is seriously steamy! Bias-stripe leotards, legwarmers...grrrowf! But I truly do believe that that period is due for a comeback, so take heart! And until then...well, the colors may not be as bright (and the bias-stripe a thing of the past,) but you just need to look at the lines of some of the major manufacturers ("Natalie" springs immediately to mind,) to remind yourself that this is a pretty good time to be into dancewear! If only we can get that color pallette where it used to be! >>>Anecdote: back in '81 or so, I was a fan of a local new wave band that featured two lady musicians (one was kinda bony, but the other was a big blonde, and was therefore in the greatest danger of slipping in my drool...) who obviously liked the B-52s, and sort of stole their style (only without the ridiculous hairdos) Anyway, one night they'd realized that they's seen me at their shows before, and the two girls came down and introduced themselves. The thin girl (can't remember either's name, for some reason) was wearing a brown patterned minidress and orange tights, and the blonde was in a hot-pink-and navy ultra-short dress, with navy tights. We talked about music and movies (they actually had a song that recounted the events in "Plan 9 From Outer Space," and this was the early eighties! Ahead of their time, no?) for about two hours, and I walked them to their van, where the rest of the band was waiting. Did I get their numbers? No. Was it because I was seeing someone at the time? No. Was it because the thin one wouldn't leave me and the blonde alone together? No. Was it because I was a FLAT FUCKING IDIOT? DingDingDingDing! We have a winnah!-Depon
