These are the people who made the men's tights called>"waist socks" (anything to avoid the word "tights"!). I thought>they sucked.>Tom--I had seen several Wolford stores over the years in exclusive shopping malls, and always wondered how they could stay in business. Yes, they are pricey, but most women I know very rarely buy such pricey hosiery. How could the cost of being in an exclusive mall be offset by the sales? The New York Times once ran a fashion article on their Velvet Deluxe Opaques, interestingly annotated with women's experiences. One woman said "beautiful feel overall, but that backseam running underfoot made it feel like I was standing on a telephone cord!". I was very tempted to discover this for myself, but balked on the size limitations (capped at 5'8"). Wolford seems strangely oblivious of tall women. With all of these 6' tall models strutting about, you'd think they'd want to get their hosiery on them. Anyway, I couldn't help but notice "waist socks" for men too. I e-mailed them about this product, only to discover that they charge $99 for one pair! How did you happen to try them? I was thinking of buying them someday (when I get up enough nerve to blow $99), because they support tall men's sizes. If you had a very negative reaction, I'm definitely pausing. What didn't you like about them? Personally, for fashion grade tights, I think DKNY has the corner on high quality. What's been your experience? ~Seamless~ Answers to this message:
