Airskin opaques by Levante - review

written by Seamless at  on 05.09. at 04:06:57
Both styles feature this new "Airskin" fabric.  From my limited experience, I'd say that they do seem to wick away moisture.  Even on a warm humid night they felt comfortable.  And they come in a wide range of sizes, to include XXTall (which is what I got, being 6' 200lbs).  Size is important to me, because with my height and muscular legs, it's hard to find good opacity.  The XXTall is just tall enough.  As for colours, there is not a huge range, mostly earth tones which are somewhat conservative.  Off-white, navy blue, black, dark brown, and dark green (the site lists these in Italian, I think, although there are color swatches shown).  Some of the lighter styles have more adventurous colors, so don't hesitate to browse the site.  There are even some attractive patterned tights too.

The only real disappointment I had was with the waistband.  Just your plain ordinary semi-reinforced band, unlike Donna Karan's that are nicely thick and definite.  They hold the tights up adequately, but I wonder if they will lose their strength after several washings.  Levante has a good reputation, so I'd guess they'll last.

The 150's are $15.75 while the 80's are $10.50, on the Levante website.  With ground shipping at around $4.25, it's a good idea to order at least two pairs.  Levante included in my order a free small bottle of Hosiery Mate (not mentioned on the website, so I don't know if this is based on price or first time orders).  Kind of emphasizing that you need to wash these by hand.  I'm guessing it's a variation on Woolite.

Two thumbs up!~Seamless~

p.s. Levante is negotiating with Cindy Crawford to be their hosiery clad spokeswoman.  Woof-meow!
