I took a deep breath and said "no, they're for me!" She looked at me kind of strangely and said "OK, but don't you want to try the men's tights instead?" I said "no, I love the look and feel of these color and style of tights." She kind of giggled and said "you know, you're the first guy I've ever sold these kind of tights to who admitted that." She then began to smile and asked me "would you like a leotard or pointe shoes to go with the tights?" I said "nope, I've already got more of them than I need.' Her mouth dropped open in shock as I handed her the money, and walked out of the store.>>>Any of you other tights lovers have a similar tale to tell??? C'mon guys fess up!!!>>Buying pink tights in a store?? Been there, done that! First time I bought my own pair of dance tights, in fact. I live in New Mexico, close to El Paso, Tx. There are 4 dance stores there and I've been to two of them. First time I did it, I went over to the store and bought "my sister" a new pair of pink tights. When I went to get fitted for pointe shoes the first time, I was actually *in* pink tights when i went into the store. The first store I went to wouldn't fit me, but only because they had a policy of "try only if you want to buy". It was cool though, 'cos the girl workin there was younger(she looked 18 or 19, in fact...) Her eyes kept traveling down to my legs 'cos I was in short shorts. The next store I went to did fit me, and although the clerk there was slightly older(maybe her 30s), she didn't give off a threatening vibe, and was friendly. There's one more store down in El Paso that I haven't been to yet, but this weekend I'm driving out to pick up my cousin (who's also starting ballet!) 'cos she wants to...get this...get fitted for pointe shoes! Should be fun! More on that later.>>Jay>Very cool Jay!!!!
