I'm always looking for smart pop stuff. I've never gotten into Yes for some reason. Although, to be honest, I've never given them much of a chance. The whole prog thing is a little intimidating to me - dense, fugue-structured, twelve minute songs about Aldous Huxley, men in massive forts constructed entirely of synthesizers playing seven keyboards at a time while soloing on an electric flute, etc. I'm sure if I heard the right album my opinion would change. I mean, I like King Crimson and the Mars Volta and they're sort of prog-ish. Anyway, thanks. For you: Two bands from Scotland - Aereogramme (prog-style, interesting stuff) and Belle and Sebastian (you've probably heard of them but, if not, check them out). Answers to this message: |
