>Does anyone have any ideas for extra padding for big toes?  I haven't been dancing on pointe very long(only about 8 months) and my toes never use to hurt until recently.  I've tried bandages, padded tape, and lambs wool.  I already wear the gel inserts but my big toes still hurt.  If anyone has any help PLEASE tell me.  Thanks!

Make sure that you are keeping your toenails clipped straight across and short (but not too short that your are cutting down to the quick). I fitted dance shoes on customers for 15 years and was amazed at how many girls would have these loooonggg toenails and they would wonder why their toes hurt, or toenails turned black. I couldn't stand the feel of putting on ballet or jazz shoes and have my toenails touching the end of the shoe. Just a suggestion----give it a try.
