I have wanted to go en pointe for the past 2 years or doing ballet. I have bought a pair or pointe shoes but it didnt fit me by like 1/2 and inch. They were Sansha Recital 202 i think i am going to search around again and try to find something that might fir me! My street show is a 10 and a 1/2 so if u know a good place or website please inform me! thanks! >I would like to say, I have been dancing for years--started as a typical flatfoot male dancer at age 5, saw my sisters doing pointe and went "wow!" so at age 6 & 1/2 I started en pointe. I am now college aged and still dance. I have not had any problems with my ankles nor have any of the young ladies who I took pointe with (there were about 10 of us, under the instruction of the great Stella Hobsen). Pointe can be done by male dancers and indeed can be done well by male dancers. I wish more men would dance en pointe!! It is my experience that damage occurs when the student is either given poor instruction or does not follow instructions properly. Answers to this message: |
