I am interested in working as a guest dancer. I have been dancing for twenty-three years since I was six years old. I have an excellent track record and can provide references that speak to my work ethic. I am, and always have been, a focused and committed member of each company that I have been a part of. I would certainly enjoy the challenges and possibilities that would be afforded to me with a larger company. I am writing to seek your advice on obtaining a position.
Currently I am a Principal Dancer with The Sacramento Ballet. Previously I was one of the dancers performing Principal roles with the Washington Ballet in Washington, DC. Over the past three years, in Sacramento I have performed the Principal roles in some of Balanchine’s most noted works. In Washington, I danced works choreographed by: Graham Lustig; Mary Day; Septime Webre; Krystopf Pastor; Nacho Duato; Choo San Goh; Kirk Petersen; and George Balanchine. I danced Principal roles in most of these previous works, but have also danced as a member of the company in different capacities as well. In addition to my work as a dancer I have also served as a company representative chosen by my peers to interact with the ballet administration. In Sacramento I performed Principal roles in all productions as well as serving as Ballet Master when needed. I also enjoy having served as the Director of the Sacramento Ballet Summer Intensive Workshop for the last two years. As a dancer I bring a focus on the work at hand and would strive to be the best dancer I could be. I have relocated to the East Coast, and will be there permanently once my contract in Sacramento expires in April of 2003. My life partner, of the last ten years, is an Information Technology professional, and has accepted a position in NYC. As such our relocation back to the East Coast is a permanent one. We have settled in a house in Jersey City, NJ. At present I have a guest artist commitment with New York Theatre Ballet for April and May. As such I would be available as early as the summer of 2003 to accept new employment. I have attached my resume for your review. You may feel free to forward it to any interested parties. I also have photos and a sample video available. At present I am featured on the entry page of the Sacramento Ballet's website at: www.sacballet.org. That is me in Carmina Burana.
Thank you in advance for any advice you could afford me.
Sincerely,
Jack H. Hansen[/i]
