[i]>1st: leotards were "invented" and worn by a male gymnist, Jules Leotard
>2nd: tights were "invented" and worn by males
>3rd: clothing is just that, clothing. does a thong leotard state: i'm male, i'm female?
>>>>Hi everyone! i'm so relieved that i found this site, and that there are guys out there like me. i'm only 19, just out of hs. Ive been wearing dancewear for a few years now, its been a secret habit of mine. I got all my stuff through ebay because i'm scared (since i still live with my parents at home) that theyll see some dancewear store on my credit card statement. I dont think i'm entirely gay, because i'm very happy and sexually active with my girlfriend(who happens to be in ballet). Well my problem is i'm embarrased to go into dancewear stores to get leotards and stuff and i cant order from sites online that have "dancewear" or anything in their name. Is there a good site with a nice selection that wont give me away on the credit card statement? Thanks.
>>> You don't have to be gay to like to wear dancewear. Sexual orientation
>>>doesn't seem to fit into it. Straight, gay, bisexual, lesbian-it doesn't matter,
>>>wearing leotards and tights are so cool to many people. It's called "dressing
>>>for pleasure" and like you I feel really, really, good wearing it. Alot of dance
>>>wear is unisex anyway, with a few exceptions. I wear mine to the gym, pilates
>>>classes, and sometimes to work. Now I wouldn't wear a tutu to work, much less
>>>wear one anyway, but that's me. What dancewear do you like.
>>> As far as going into the stores, just tell them you are taking dance classes
>>>and you to buy some stuff. For the most part they don't care, they just want your business. And So What-if they care, are they paying your bills?
>>> Just because you like to wear tights doesn't make you weird or a freak.
>>>Runners, inline skaters, hikers wear them, they are comfortable. And frankly,
>>>from a sexual standpoint, dancewear can make you rather aroused. Men, in this
>>>culture are pretty much taught: Women are women, and men had better be men. It's
>>>stupid, to define what is a man or woman, by what they like to wear.
>>> Admittedly though, when I wear some to my leotards, it is not out in public.
>>>Like I said earlier, I wear to the gym, and pilates, but at work it is under a
>>>T-shirt or long pants. You have to find your own comfort level. But, that is
>>>true for anyone, man or woman, they dress to their comfort levels. When they were popular, many women wore thong leotards and other women wouldn't be caught
>>>dead in them. Their loss.
>>> Hope that helps. :)
>>Thanks! My girlfriend knows about my habit and it doesnt seem to bother her. I'm just uncomfortable going into my neighborhood dancewear shop (where my girlfriend's friends shop) and picking up large size items. I'm thinking about driving far out to a danskin outlet, maybe one of these coming weekends. But anyway its great knowing that i'm not alone and that i'm not that weird. I mainly wear dancewear daily under my normal clothes, tank leotards and dance briefs. I love wearing a pair of jazz pants around the house, theyre unbelievably comfortable. Anyone else like jazz pants? I even wear them under jeans on cold days. I've also found comfort in wearing a supplex body liner to the gym, theyre great and keep my skin cool.
>check out www.renaissancedancewear.com. They can make almost anything you can think of. The work (esp. their custom work) is expensive, but they're worth it because their comfortable and last for ages. If you don't want your parents to find out, pay by money order... It's what I do.
