I mean, there's not a lot of support there after all. Anyway, I have an old canvas pair that I wear around (inside) the house and yesterday I had them on when I went outside to my car to get something. Walking across the parking lot was tough -- felt every stone. Don't think it's anything I'll be doing on a regular basis but it got me to wondering if others do it from time to time. Thanks!I wear black ballets everyday at work and outside in nice weather. I buy my shoes sewn by Just Plain Flats. He sews in black calfskin and I've had them made a variety of ways both pleated ballets and full sole flats made like ballet shoes. He sews pleated teachers pumps in black calfskin with elk leather insoles and they have thick leather heel pieces sewn between the vamp and the sole. I prefer the pleated pumps because they are really soft and they easily form a very full arch. He will discuss the shoes with you via e-mail and we agree on all of the particulars and a price before he sews. I usually buy my shoes a few pair at a time and he always gives me a nice discount, almost 30% less than buying them a pair at a time. Also, I do like his full sole flats. They're sewn in black calfskin, have these really soft elk leather insoles, leather heels, and saddle leather full soles. He mails them out folded in a carton and they also form a really nice arch and wear a long time as street shoes. I LOVE the pleated pumps the most even though I have to request to have them sewn. If he's not busy, I usually get my shoes in a few dasy but he always lets me know if he gets busy when he'll get my shoes sewn and sent out.
