Re: Dare I ask a used dance belt question?

In my experience (e.g. ebay), used or "old" dancebelts go for prices much higher than new ones.  Some people are collectors; some people who bid on used dancebelts are "looking for something different." (Boy am I polite!)  I haven't seen any dancebelts at ebay recently, but for example look at their section (or search) under "jockstrap" and you'll see how many guys have interests in "supporters" and how much they are willing to pay for used ones.

I collect almost any type of ballet stuff...and sometimes used slippers (I have a pair from Baryshnikov) and old costumes (including dancebelts) have different appeal for collectors.

The fact is that there are places where you can buy a dance belt at relatively inexpensive prices.  GWIZ (see threads on maledancewear board) makes great dancebelts at reasonable prices.  Paterson's Back Bay Dancewear has reasonable prices for their dancebelts. Try www.dancer.com, Dance Links, Miscellanaous resources, for a whole group of websites for dancewear.

Good Luck!   balletboy

>Hey men, >I'm an actor, not a dancer, so I don't know if my question is appropriate or not. Been reading all the kudo's for dance belt uses from ballet to sports and would like to try one myself. But since I rarely buy anything new (and don't know where to start), is this an item ever sold used? If so I'd be interested in buying a used one from someone...>(Yeah, I know, individual size measurements, etc. But I won't be wearing it seriously for dancing.) Much thanks, guys!>Josef
