This was enough to encourage me to invest in a few pairs of running tights and wear them whenever I could. I got a few laughs from men, a few sniggered comments from women (One girl drove by in a pickup and yelled "PUT SOME UNDERWEAR ON!" I yelled back "LOSE SOME WEIGHT!") and I occasionally noticed the odd girl or guy (I guess they'd have to be odd, eh?) who gave me the once-over twice, as Exene would say, and it was quite worth the grief. I remember two young black girls passing by in black hose, and when they were behind me, I naturally turned back to catch the rear elevation. To my surprise, I caught them, sunglasses down, checking out my own tights-clad butt. They looked up and smiled.
