Once in the past I bought at Baum's on 11th Street, but I was uncomfortable there with the innocently nosey middle-aged saleslady--what I wanted the tights for was none of her business. Then a friend who worked in theater told me about the Rosin Box. I like going to a shop where I can buy dancewear from a guy who is used to selling dancewear to guys and who doesn't ask questions.
