Why hate leggings and tights?  They're just a form of clothing!!!

Dancers wear leggings and tights because they are functional.  They fit the body closely and allow for freedom of movement, while allowing the dancer teacher and your-self to observe the movements, muscle and joint placement, etc.

"Hate" is a strong emotion, too strong to waste on an inanimate object such as a pair of leggings or tights.  When you "hate" something, it blinds you to the reality. (In this case, that leggings and tights are functional for dancers.)

You request pictures...why? For comparisons? Do you think your body will look "too funny" in leggings or tights?  Or do you just want to see how "funny" I and other guys look in our leggings and tights? Anyways, you didn't leave an e-mail address, so sorry, no pics!  (Try the fanballet.majorhost.com/index.html if you want to see how funny some guys look in tights!)

Everybody's body is different!  The main point of wearing dancewear is to be able to function and for the teacher's purposes.  Dancewear is not to make you look "fantastic;" the dance does that!

In dance we work our bodies to develop the muscles and placement, to ultimately show our "instrument" in a display of its beauty: beauty in movement and beauty in its development/construction.

The logical choice is dancewear!  It helps you learn dance; it helps you make corrections to your dance; and, it helps show your body during the full glory of dancing!

If you want to live and breathe dance, wear your dancewear in class!
