Even though I wear nothing at all underneath. I wear black leotards & unitards exclusively, so that helps to preserve modesty better. If I wore white, my stuff would show through when the fabric stretched transparently. So I stick to black and that way I can get away with not wearing anything underneath. I liked your news that some women like to see men's legs! I have the fantasy of wearing only a long-sleeved leotard to class with no leggings. But so far I've been way too shy to dare that. If I saw enough ladies barelegged in leotards, I might go for it. But alas! they practically never wear leos to class, let alone barelegged leos. Their leos are never long-sleeved either. I will just have to go on dreaming.... >>Even though leotards for men have been around from the beginning, I have always wondered why there is this unwritten rule that men's leotards can only be short-sleeved or sleeveless, never long-sleeved. When I go into a dancewear store and ask for men's leotards or unitards, they show me a very small selection never with long sleeves. So by now I have learned to forget about "men's" leotards and just go for the big selection which is "ladies'" but in fact many of the "ladies'" leos and unitards go on men just as well, in L or XL size.>>I only like long sleeves, I never wear anything else. How come everybody assumes men can't wear long sleeves? Once I was in a dancewear store and bought a long-sleeved leotard; I asked the salesgirl why don't men wear long sleeves, and she said she knows a man who shops there who does wear long sleeves.>>Have you ever noticed in gymnastics, the men have their legs covered and their arms bare, while the women have their arms covered and their legs bare? When I go to the gymnastics newsgroup and ask WHY, they just get annoyed with me and say "that's the way it is!">>To me, the leotard has to have long sleeves to really look like a "leotard." I mean, the sleeveless ones, you can't tell them apart from a maillot bathing suit. The real "leotard" look has the fascinating contrast of fully exposed legs and fully covered arms. Only the leotard looks like that, the secret of its unique charm.>I think it's the old school of thought of appeal: for women it's showing the legs, for men it's showing the arms. But funny enough, a few of my women friends say that they find the male leg sexier than the female, and that men should show off their legs more often. Who knows... could be a dancing tradition, passed down for years, and now the reason is long forgotten (probably some strict teacher laid down the law and it stuck). Interesting though, on male skaters they wear long sleeve unitards, and they don't look any more feminine than without long sleeves. Antworten zu diesem Beitrag: |
