I first saw guys doing this at David Howard's in Manhattan a few years ago. When I went to a summer intensive, the guys would wear trunks (tight fitting high-waisted shorts, kind of like a speedo bathing suit) with t-shirts, and some wore just tank leotards. Either way, it's very comfortable. Many guys also wear these bike-unitards, one piece suits that have short legs. I've never heard anyone complain, and they may avoid saying something because I do wear these kinds of outfits. But the thruth is, if I'm comfortable, I don't care what people think.
