I'm with you. Dancewear is unforgiving--it shows you off or showsyou up--but by convention that's what we wear in class, & after allit's what we *do* while wearing it that the teacher cares about.
But people's choices in adult classes vary & are interesting tostudy, or at least to notice. The rule seems to be that if you havea scruptious body, you'll definitely wear traditional skin-tightdancewear. This seems to apply whether you're male or female.People whose bodies leave something to be desired (as mine does--a lot!) cope with this in various ways. Some of us, like me, weartraditional dancewear anyway & just let the horrors show; otherswear something baggy in the hope that people won't realize just howbadly concealment is necessary. I think it's important to let ourteacher see what our bodies are doing as we dance, but I won't sitin judgement on those who opt for concealment.
