I myself wear only mstevens long/sleeve unitards to class. i am not ashamed of my body and the teacher appreciates it.I'm with you. Dancewear is unforgiving--it shows you off or shows you up--but by convention that's what we wear in class, & after all it's what we *do* while wearing it that the teacher cares about.But people's choices in adult classes vary & are interesting to study, or at least to notice. The rule seems to be that if you have a scruptious body, you'll definitely wear traditional skin-tight dancewear. This seems to apply whether you're male or female. People whose bodies leave something to be desired (as mine does-- a lot!) cope with this in various ways. Some of us, like me, wear traditional dancewear anyway & just let the horrors show; others wear something baggy in the hope that people won't realize just how badly concealment is necessary. I think it's important to let our teacher see what our bodies are doing as we dance, but I won't sit in judgement on those who opt for concealment.Tom[/i]
