Find a school with a dance teacher who has performed in a world class company if you can. other teachers don't always cut it... Make sure they say that their first priority is to push the basics, before anything else! no matter how high you can jump, how many turns you can do, if you look awkward doing it, you can never really go back to the beginning easily after you've developed bad habits.<p>Don't expect to move up too fast. If teachers know that you want to be a professional, and see you have talent, they will keep you in lower levels, but allow you to take the higher levers too. Do not stop taking levels that are a bit easy for you.
