I also agree that girls must wear tights under leo. Saw a girl once with pink / white tights over light blue leo and it did not look good.
This might be a bit of the subject but we must remeber a lot of things change as time goes by. We can see that in ballet aswell, I have read a lot of studios that do not have a strict dress code any more and the students can wear what ever the like. It's almost like normal school here in South Africa. Some people say there must be uniforms and other say the children must be alled to wear what they want to. The advantage with formal dress code all the girls look the same the poor and the rich and no one feels out. Wear as when anything is allowed the girls with less money for example will not beable to dress as "smart" as the rich girls and the will feel out.
I might be wrong but I believe there are 2 types of ballet classe. The one is the pro. classes children and young people join that want to become pro. dancers, these classes should have a strict dress code sothat these students can look and act pro. Then there the open adult ( somtimes refered to fun classes by some people ) that are atten by adults off all ages that just come to class to enjoy dancing again or want to learn ballet with no attention to go pro. I feel these classes should not have any strict dress code. I am a addult male beginner who attend 2 of these classes and both the dress code are anything comfortable. When I asked the one teacher about the dress code she told me to look at what the girls are wearing. This is a teacher who teache pro. and also have been teaching for many years it is not that she is a young teacher. ANd she is a very good teacher. Adult classes must not be that strict as alot of older woman do not like to wear leotards anymore, or are a bit shy.
Just my opinion.
