>>Tom Parsons>>Probably not...what professionals wear to class is their business..as professionals they've earned the right to individual dress variations. My original point was aimed at ballet students for whom conformity, discipline and adherence to ballet dress requirements are an important part of ballet training which professional ballet dancers have moved beyond! In my classes boys must wear black ballet tights ..no exceptions!!
Yo Ballet Mistress. What about adults. Most adults do not want to make a career they jusy want to enjoy dancing again, or this who have never danced before just want to learn houw. SHould they also adhare to a strict dress code. I am a 27 year old male dancer who only started this. When I aked my teacher about dress code she said any thing comfortable then told me to have a look what the ladies wear as it is a there are anly girls in her class. She also teach childresn. SHe teache the RAD sylabus and all her all the classes for the children do have a stric dress code. Do you think it is ok that adults like profesionals can where whatever they want to ?You said males should wear appropriate color tights and then on the other hand you say pro's can wear whatever, so what if a pro wear pink forinstance ? Will you allow it if you teach a pro class ? Oh and some of the adults in my clas is goint to do emams aswell. So it is not just a fyn class I attend.[/i]
