You sound like me when I started. In fact, you sound like a lot ofus at the beginning. But you know, lots of men have done ballet,& there have been no reported fatalities yet. :-)
Once you're there, you'll see other guys getting into tights, too,so you're by no means going to be the only one. And even if you'rethe only male in the class, there will be others in the studiodressed pretty much the same as you.
Actually, the really bad part isn't shyness, or embarrassment. Thereal enemy is discouragement. The class (if it's like most) startsout so EASY...nothing but little knee bends. But then it gets veryhard very fast, & if you're the way most of us were when westarted, you'll end up at the end of the class standing there likea dope while all those other "beginners" go sweeping across thestudio.
What you *M*U*S*T* remember, if that happens to you, is that wewere all there once, & the only difference between you & the otherpeople in the class is that they have persevered. You felt like afool? Okay, go back next time & feel like a fool then, too. But intime it will come together & you'll begin to feel at home.
Good luck.
