I just turned seventeen and I'm starting a beginner's ballet class this week. I've wanted to learn ballet for about a year now but always talked myself out of it, saying that I'm too old and could never learn. But I've finally just decided "to heck with it," I'm trying anyway!
I've been browsing through various dance sites, and I get the impression that "its never too late to start and you can always just do it for fun." However, my question is... would it be possible for me to actually dance for a living? Or am I really too old? If it is possible, how long do you think it would take? There are girls who have been dancing since they were five years old, and I don't know if that's simply too much ground for me to try and cover.
Thanks. :)
