Several years earlier I had smooshed my left knee in a hiking accident, so my ability to execute certain ballet positions is curtailed. Also, I have a spinal curvature. Ballet has helped tremendously with flexibility and posture, but, above all, it is deeply satisfying to dance.<p>As for being 50, another fellow in one of my classes is 50 and took his first class last July.
