>hey there! I'm 14 years old and I am really really in LOVE with ballet! I used to take isadora duncan but I stopped. Now, after a few years of having too much schoolwork to take classes, I really want to start dancing again, this time Ballet. I have a few questions though!>*I'm like 5'6, and I think I'm going to grow more, and I'm 120 lbs. I'm not FAT, but I am NOT skinny. I'm on the swim team, so I'm quite muscular. Before I start ballet (after exams this March) I want to lose a little weight. I've seen pictures of ballerinas in movies and magazines, and they're really thin. I want to make sure that I start ballet with the right body, so does anyone have any healthy diets that I can go on before I start? or maybe some excersizes to burn the fat on my stomach? I want to have one of those flat tummies for ballet.>*also, I have tried the "froggy stretch" and it's so painful, I just can't do it! My turnout is horrible. I know that I've never had a class, but my feet only go to like 190 degrees before it starts to hurt. I know that that's more than 180 degrees, but it't totally coming from the ankles, and not the hip! (I've been doing my research!)>*okay-the splits. I can only do it with one leg! I can only do it with my left foot forward. and also, my back leg is flat on the floor, and I know that both legs are supposed to be flat. how can I do some good stretches? preferable ones that I can just do in my room. I know you're not supposed to stretch cold.>*How long will it take me to get on pointe if I work hard about two times a week?>* I live in NYC, does anyone know if there are some good dance classes for teen beginners? I am really nervous about starting to dance in NYC, the dancing is really serious though, you probably know that! >*what can I do to start before march?>*lastly, what do I need to start attire-wise?>sorry there are so many questions, please answer!!![/i]
