Tights are made for men.  Men were the first who wore tights!  Tights and leotards were designed and made for men!

Women never wore pants until this century.  And women never exhibited their legs until after Victorian times.

That lack of seeing women's legs encouraged the movement in the opposite direction.  Soon it was the women showing their legs and wearing the tights.  In truth, this is the exploitation of women!  Frustrated men forcing women to show their legs!  Then men decided they didn't want to have to stay in shape and keep themselves attractive to women.  So the general male society made it unacceptable for men to wear tights because most men, the silent majority, decided they didn't want to have to work to keep themselves attractive to women.

dancer, you are stuck in a 20th century morality that exploits women, and allows the exploiters, the men, to avoid the need to keep in shape and show their legs.  Sweatpants are the way for men to hide their indifference to women by hiding their out-of-shape bodies!

Men are the peacocks; look at nature!  But when male humans cannot cut the grade by keeping in shape, they cover-up with sweatpants.  The male human who displays his body is honest!

Wake up and smell the coffee!

>I have never worked with a male dancer before, but ballet is equally appealing to both men and women. I think that a man wearing tights in a ballet or dance class is perfectly fine as it is part of the attire anyway. Tights can also help the teacher notice your leg muscles and stuff better so they can correct you easily whether you're male or female. >However, if my husband or boyfriend wears tights at home for no reason, or to replace sweatpants, I will find it totally unnatural and in fact, pretty gross and obscene. Women don't strut around in tights to replace sweatpants either. Tights should only be worn at appropiate times: during ballet class or performance. For women, they can also wear tights to compliment certain clothes or to keep wram during winter, but since there aren't everyday tights designed for men, obviously that means men should stick to sweatpants, don't you think???
