Sometime people like you have not been able to get the right ballet teachers. I'm really sorry to say that if you did not have the right ballet training when you were young (like me!), you have a small chance of becoming a professional! You need to have a serious talk with your teacher to assess where you can go! I'm sorry to be blunt! When I was 14 I was told I just started too late in formal classes (even though I was doing ballet exercises since I was about four years old in my bedroom) to be a professional. I still have not recovered! I'd sell my soul to be a principle danseur! I wanted to put so much effort into ballet that the world would acknoledge me as a greater dansuer than Nureyev! I wanted to be the male danseur that made ballet the envy of every red-blooded American male. When I was in my twenties I was fit enough to dance any danseur's principle role! But the professionals did not care about my heart and ability! The danceworld is tough! I had the heart, but not the stamina to fight the system! So you need to enjoy yourself! Life is short! Use what you have to enjoy yourself! Please realize that no matter how much we want to be the ballet danseur of the century, there are other forces that work against us! Just enjoy yourself, Kelli! balletboy Answers to this message: |
