Pirouettes...

...thing to remember is all single pirouettes are really only a 1/2 turn on one foot and leg.  IF you start in open 4th outsideyour rear foot (also the supporting leg) will be on the floor until you are half way around...the ball of the supporting foot should be twisting as you turn. At the half way point the former front leg should be in passe.

All the while the first thing to turn in is your left shoulder and the last thing to move is your head.  The head should be the first thing to complete the turn (finding your spot) and your shoulders second, your hips third (rmember your turnout).

Important to note: your spine should be lengthened and the crown of your head should be pushing to the sky.  This is the way you maintain balance.
