....follow your dream !
written by Tom on 15.03. at 21:26:13 - as answer to: dress code in a open adult ballet class ( opinions wanted ) by just somebody at > But what about open adult classes where alot of people take class for the exercise and enjoyment, people who do not want to become pro's. [snip] I've notice that in such classes the dress code is usually antything comfortable. Do you think it is wring and do you think strict dress codes should apply in these classes aswell. What about teachers in these classes allowing males to use ladies dancewear? Adults are a sort of special case. Some of us have physicaldisabilities (old injuries, arthritis, etc.) that limit our choicesof dancewear. (A dear friend & classmate can't wear proper balletshoes any more.) So exceptions must be made. And older adultswith lives of their own to live aren't always good at submitting tothe traditional discipline of a professional-track class. So (to answer your question, at last) no, I don't think it wrong. As for dancing in drag, I imagine that would depend on how you didit, the teacher's attitude, & the atmosphere of the class. But Ithink the odds against accptance are long. Tom Parsons Answers to this message:
