It is very hard for someone over 16 to start ballet and dance in a world class company for a career, but not impossible That's my interpretation most of the time. Igor Youskevitchstarted some time in his early twenties...but he was a unique case;I've never heard of any other professional starting that old. On the other hand, some people do come here wondering whether theycan do recreational ballet. Answer: you can do it at any age aslong as your body is still up to it. I'm 72, & a classmate justcelebrated his 76th birthday. We have a bunch of grandmothersin our class & I wish I could move as beautifully as they do. Tom Answers to this message: |
