I think it's great that you want to take ballet, and just enjoy yourself. Since you're an adult beginner, you can probably get away with not wearing the standard tights and leotard. But whatever you do wear should be somewhat tight fitting so the teacher can see the lines of your body. This is important so you don't hurt yourself. So have fun, but wear something like a tight tee shirt and jazz pants and don't feel at all sensitive about being a little heavy. No one in a ballet class, epecially an adults beginners class is going to be bothered by someone who does not have a classical ballet figure. Answers to this message:
