"If a dancer refuses or cannot perform at the barre one day, he/she will notice it. If a danseur refuses or cannot perform at the barre two days, everyone will notice it. Get it! Good. Ballet is fantastic. Yoga and Pilates are the danseurs blessings. Get an audio or video cd at your local sports shop. Pick up a mat or use a blanket on the floor and keep a pillow nearby for your head. These exercises will increase your flexibility at a rate you can understand. Ballet is the most unnatural form of exercise you can imagine because it creates a haunt of the perspective we take on how bones can be tendered. That is why the most recognized danseurs are taken from the age of three or five. Again, your barre is your best friend. The Foot and Ankle, by Philip Lewin M.D. says "The training, balance, poise, muscular development, and exercise more than compensate for any harmful effects that may occur. However, they should not be engaged in too early in life, ballet. Ballet shoes and slippers may be fitted with felt paads to support the transverse and longitudinal arches and heels. In some cases the toes of the shoes should be padded." Insoles of sponge rubber are helpful. Also, request a thera band from your local sportsware store and exercise your feet, and lower extremities. Therabands help to increase flexibility at a rate you can afford to approach with confidence and little risk of harm. Diversify your curriculum and the benefits will be beyond your imagination. have fun! Answers to this message: |
