written by Tom on 12.06. at 16:00:53 - as answer to: wearing womens tights to class by Mike >I've recently started adult beginner ballet classes.I'm the only male in the ballet class.Dress code in the class is pretty relaxed ,though most of the women wear tights and leotards.At this stage I don't want to spend lots of money on dancewear ,since I'm only interested in ballet for relaxation and exercise.The ballet teacher suggested that instead of buying expensive mens ballet tights that its ok for me to wear black womens dance tights or even thick ladies fashion tights.Do anyone other males wear womens tights to class? Tights are unisex, especially black ones. I once found a verycomfortable pair at Paragon (in Manhattan). After I bought them,I saw that the label said they were women's tights. (Someone hadmistakenly put them on the men's rack.) I figured, they had fooledme & they had fooled whoever put them on the rack, & that nobodywould notice the difference. And nobody ever did.
