It takes about 3 years of consistent, 5 day/wk training to go en pointe.

Many different body types and heights can successfully dance ballet, you don't have to be stick-thin.  But it is important to be fit --- not overweight.  If you are overweight, consistent daily ballet training will likely change that over time.
