REPLY - why quit if you love it?  No one can take away your dreams. If you want it bad enough, nothing can stop you!  I am 40 and people tell me I will never dance professionally, but you notice it hasn't stopped me!  I dance 5 times a week in ballet and believe it or not pointe work!  I dance because I love it.  I will dance in a performance if I have to design my own performance and company to be in!!!

I know of several women who do dance professionally, but the pay is small (while I am sure the rewards are great!)  They also have to work in the regular, dulldrum world the rest of us work in too.  You may want to have a backup career too - it kind of would take the edge off being a ballerina - and move your focus into loving it more for what it is, and caring less about how far it will take you.  It's a little like love you know - you don't want to take it for granted - ever!

Keep me posted.  Good luck.

Ann
