Hi Kyle!  To be very honest with you, it depends on what shape you're in now.  If you're in good shape, then GO FOR IT.  But "good shape" also means dedicated to the art, and prepared to accept the demands of the dance, training, performing, etc.

What kind of dance are you interested in?  Ballet is tough, but guys always have an edge, just by being guys.  It's easier outside of New York City (Where do you live?), and lots of ballet guys find great careers across the country, where the living can be better (and cheaper) than NYC.

Jazz dance can be rewarding.  There are a lot of shows -- including commercial, industrial, etc. -- that are looking for good male dancers.

Broadway is very tough!  Lots of competition.  Demands that dancers have training in ballet, jazz and tap.  Lots of aspiring actors (who really can't dance!) who try to get into the chorus line.  And you need a great deal of perseverence to get onto Broadway!

There are a lot of modern and contemporary ballet companies everywhere.

If dancing is what you want, and you're dedicated, you can make it.

Keep in touch.  Let me know what you decide.

P.S. You might try the web-site "balletalert.com"  There seems to be more professional dancers at that web site.  These "parsimony" sites sometimes have "unusual" lines of discussion.
