>Anyways, I'm scared that 17 is too old to start, and I don't wanna make a fool of myself.  And I don't know if there are any schools for "older kids" in my area.  I'm wondering where I can find out where I can find more information!>Thanks for reading!   Please e-mail replys too!>                -SheilaHI, I am 17 and I went to a summer fine arts camp which just ended last week. I was a dance major in it, and I had never danced before in my entire life(not even social type dancing). I have not seen Center Stage, although I was vaugely interested in seeing it. I am a male and I was the ONLY male  in the placement audition of which there were 18 girls. YOU can go do something like that with no more embaressment then as simply not knowing what to do, I'm SHY AROUND GIRLS!!!!!! LET ALONE 18 GIRLS IN LEOTARDS AND TIGHTS, sure for some guys that might be a dreamcome true, but like I said, I'M SHY! It was to put it plain and simple, PURE HELL! However on the technical aspect I suppose I did relatively well for all my embaressment and my not haveing a clue what was going on most of the time. So if you are built right for it (even if you're not) go for it. My placement? 1st class of the day: beginning ballet, 2nd: beginning modern and on the odd days Jazz1, 3rd voice diction(its a fine arts camp), 4th modern repatory, 5th beginning Jazz. 5 days a week for 4weeks, getting up at 7:30 for an 8:30 class, and leaving the last class at about 5pm.(just about 5 hours a day)By the way if you ever go to the musicals.net CATS forum and see someone post under the name Outcast, that's me.
