I forgot to add that Shan Yee Poon offers adult intro to ballet classes and they each last for six weeks and then a new session begins so you can take the intro portion as many times as you want and then they have a higher level. I hope this helps!!

>Hi Claire!>I am ninteen and have been taking ballet for a month. I recently switched to Shan Yee Poon Ballet school in San Francisco and I think its g reat. They have three studios and their main studio is large and beautiful. Every year they have dance recitals that all students can participate in, which i think is great . They are located in San Francisco and have a website>http://www.poonballet.com>They have been very welcoming and answered all my questions promptly>Good Luck to You!>>>>I am a twenty year old female who is desperate to take ballet. If anyone knows of places that offer a really good program for beginner adults, please e-mail me or respond here. I would really appreciate input. I live on the Peninsula, about 45 minutes from San Francisco. Anyone out there who knows something??>>Hello Claire - I do know someone who would be very knowledgeable.  I can give you a link   http://www.criticaldance.com/   This is a free board with lots of knowledgeable people - one of whom lives in San Francisco.  As an adult you need to chose a school and teacher very carefully.  Many teachers don't really like to teach adults - but, I always loved it.  Some come to this board and post your question - and I am sure someone will have a great answer for you.
