I took ballet, tap, and jazz when I was little, but that soon ended when my parents weren't impressed with the school. I've always loved ballet and even though I'm 17 and 5'8 (with the weight to prove it!) I'm still interested in taking it up...just really scared you know?? Oh well, maybe I'll get over it...maybe I won't, but I say you go for it. Ballet is fun and that's why you should be doing it. Because its fun, not because of what others think! :)>CJ>>>Anyways, I'm scared that 17 is too old to start, and I don't wanna make a fool of myself. And I don't know if there are any schools for "older kids" in my area. I'm wondering where I can find out where I can find more information!>>>Thanks for reading! Please e-mail replys too! i have the same problem,i'm 15 now but when i was 13 i missed dance a lot because i had quitefor 4 years because a gymnastic injurie and at the time it was too hectic to do 3 types of dance gymnastics, school work and all the other crap because i was a very shy girl at school and got picked on and i felt uncomfortable in my surroundings because of my race. so i stopped, but don't let minor things like that stop you"from dancing on the moon" i started late and i want to go to dancing school but i'm afraid i won't get into a good school because i haven't been there for ten and 13 years like all the other teens, but i've realized that this is life and stuff like that is gonna happen and if you keep referring to the past you're never gonna move foward and realize how good you are. it's never to late to start. my advice go for it you'll grow to love it . Trust me i know. at first it may be hard because you have doubts about seeing others who you think are better than you. but don't let it get you down because you don';t know what people are thinking they maybe thinking like this "wow this is her first time back to dance and she's doing those turns pretty good" and from there when you keep practicing it can only get better. so good luck in your decision. bye Answers to this message: |
